Patna (Bihar) [India], September 24 (ANI): Asserting that a revolution is waiting to happen in Bihar, Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring on Wednesday said that the issue of “vote theft” raised by Leader of Opposition (LoP) Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi was raging across the country.
Speaking to ANI, Warring accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of “murdering democracy” and said that it was now up to the people of Bihar to judge.
“Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s birthplace is here. I visited Patna Sahib and arrived at this historic CWC with blessings and renewed energy. The entire CWC, the entire Congress party, is here today to deliberate and also to plan to create a new history. The issue of vote theft is raging across the country. Rahul Gandhi has brought this issue to the public with proof. The BJP government have murdered democracy. Now, it is for people of Bihar to see,” Warring said.
“The atmosphere in Bihar is such that there is a revolution waiting to happen. The people of Bihar are our brothers. We can’t survive without them. They leave their homes and go there. If Nitish Kumar had done development here, everyone would have felt that they wouldn’t have to leave their homes,” he added.
His remarks come as the CWC meeting commences at Sadaqat Ashram today, ahead of the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, with prominent leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, KC Venugopal, Pawan Khera, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) president Rajesh Ram, among others, in attendance.
Congress leader Pawan Khera today said that historic decisions will be made in the party’s working committee (CWC) meeting to “safeguard democracy”.
“This is a historic CWC (Congress Working Committee) meeting in a historic state, and historic decisions will be made,” Khera said while speaking to reporters.
Referring to the Sadaqat Ashram, Khera told ANI, “This is a historic place that has witnessed the independence movement. The message that will be delivered from here will be historic. It will be for the democracy to safeguard the democracy. Every citizen is threatened by thieves.”
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid asserted that Bihar needs change, suggesting a change in the government post the upcoming assembly elections in the state.”The CWC meeting is happening after years in Bihar. Rahul Gandhi and others have worked diligently to bring about change. Bihar needs change. It is very clear,” Khurshid told reporters.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of the “vote theft” allegations levelled by Rahul Gandhi.
The timing and location of the meeting are considered crucial, as the Bihar Assembly elections are expected to take place in October-November 2025. (ANI)
