Bikaner (Rajasthan) [India], October 22 (ANI): Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, commenting on the upcoming Bihar elections, stated that development and good governance are the key issues driving the campaign.
He claimed the NDA is leading in ticket distribution and election campaigning, confidently predicting a victory for the alliance.
“There are only two issues in Bihar- development and good governance. NDA is way ahead. NDA is already leading in ticket distribution and the election campaign, and the two decided issues. NDA will win,” he said.
Meghwal criticised the Mahagathbandhan, saying their issues failed to resonate with the public and their ticket distribution process.
“The issues with which they (Mahagathbandhan) went ahead were not accepted by the public. The ticket distribution also could not happen peacefully in the INDI Alliance. They are fighting amongst each other..” he added.
The Mahagathbandhan, comprising the Congress, RJD, CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), and Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), appears to be grappling with internal coordination. Although Congress and the RJD have declared their candidates, the alliance has yet to formally announce its seat-sharing formula.
In the seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA, the BJP and JD(U) are contesting on 101 seats each, while the Lok Janshakti Party (headed by Ram Vilas) is contesting on 29 seats, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) are contesting on six seats each.
Polling for the Bihar Assembly elections will take place on November 6 and 7. The results will be announced on November 14.
The main contest in Bihar will be between the NDA and the Mahagathbandha alliance spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The INDIA alliance is aiming to unseat Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who currently leads the NDA in the state. (ANI)
