New Delhi [India], May 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Wednesday lashed out at former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi over the latter’s remarks questioning the chain of events leading to “ceasefire” between India and Pakistan, saying that the objective of INDIA bloc was to give Pakistan a clean chit for Pahalgam terror attack.
“This shows the INDI alliance has only one objective, to give Pakistan a clean chit in Pahalgam, to echo their narrative, and raise questions on forces,” Poonawalla told ANI.
In her address, Atishi questioned why Pakistan was not coming out before the world and admitting that it was the one who asked for a “ceasefire”. She also questioned the centre over US President Donald Trump announcing a “ceasefire” before the Indian government and army.
Labelling the INDIA bloc as “saboot gang”, he accused the opposition alliance of “not standing with forces” and demanding proofs about Pakistan asking for a “ceasefire” and strikes on terrorist outfits by the Indian armed forces.
“Today, the entire nation is paying its respect to the armed forces of India for Operation Sindoor being successfully executed through Tiranga Yatra. PM Modi has gone to the Adampur Air Base and raised the spirits of the armed forces. At that time, instead of standing with our forces, you can see that the ‘saboot gang’ is activated again. Atishi asked for proof about Pakistan begging for mercy,” Poonawalla said.
He further attacked Congress leader Husain Dalwai for asking for proof about the terrorists killed in the strikes carried out by the Indian army under Operation Sindoor, saying that this was the same party that questioned surgical strikes.
“Husain Dalwai, deployed by Congress, is saying, ‘How many terrorists were killed?’ How do we know? The armed forces have given the visual evidence of how the terror camps were struck. High-quality footage is available, yet the armed forces’ version is questioned. This is the same (political) party which mocked the armed forces during the surgical strike, questioned the Balakot airstrike,” Poonawalla said.
In a virtual address, Atishi raised multiple questions about the chain of events leading to Trump’s “ceasefire” announcement between India and Pakistan. She questioned how Trump announced it before the Indian government or army.
“Every political party was with the central government since it was about our country and the sindoor of our daughters and sisters. All of a sudden, on May 10, a ceasefire is announced. India, the Indian Army, or the Prime Minister didn’t make this announcement, but US President Donald Trump announced it on social media. After half an hour, India says this is right, a ceasefire understanding has been reached (between the two nations). How did this happen? Did we get our revenge?” Atishi said. (ANI)
